๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ is a project that I carried out under the pseudonym ๐๐๐๐๐๐, with which I make creations in which all the materials are products of computer manipulations. I have thus reused many times the productions of the codes designed during my courses and internships in computer engineering, to reshape them and give them an artistic echo.
This project is a compilation of visual research, in eight digital collages, on the theme of developments in computer graphics. I initially set myself the objective of achieving final renderings that would give off an esoteric, even occult aspect. In this way, I wanted to break the scientific rationality of the original materials by bringing out a certain artisanal process. This is induced for example with glitch art in my 6th piece, สแดสs-สษชษขษดแด-, which highlights faulty user interfaces. Bringing out disturbing atmospheres, with indecipherable messages, also allows me to underline the cryptic aspect that computing can take on for the uninitiated.
This project also makes the link between the currents of culture that I like in music and in graphic design. By pushing the aesthetics found on the internet to the extreme, I want to do referencing work, like in a โcybermuseumโ. It is then possible to isolate them by category, in a sort of tribute-tableau, to identify their characteristic elements. My DevilScapeโข++ painting thus refers to software CDRoms of the 90s, with the graphics of the PC game Doom and the 1994 edition of the Encarta digital encyclopedia.
The purpose was to create an archive distributed free of charge which, by downloading, allows you to have a physical copy on your computer, like โsharewareโ. It also revisits the idea of ownership around the NFT from an ironic angle. NFT productions are often put on the market by group of works, giving the impression of a chain production, sometimes uninspired. On the other hand, the mode of sharing that I have adopted makes it a "handmade" product.
